Generic Stendra (Avanafil)

Generic Stendra (Avanafil) is a PDE5 inhibitor medication used to treat erectile dysfunction.

Avanafil acts by inhibiting a specific phosphodiesterase type 5 enzyme found in various body tissues, primarily in the corpus cavernosum penis.

Other similar drugs are sildenafil citrate (Generic Viagra), tadalafil (Generic Cialis) and vardenafil (Generic Levitra). The advantage of avanafil is that it has very fast onset of action compared with other PDE5 inhibitors. It is absorbed quickly, reaching a maximum serum concentration in about 30-45 minutes. About two-thirds of the participants were able to engage in sexual activity within 15 minutes.

Possible side effects:

The common, adverse drug reactions (side effects) are the same as with other PDE5 inhibitors. The frequent avanafil-specific side-effect is nausea; the infrequent side effects are abdominal pain, back pain, photosensitivity, abnormal vision, eye pain, facial edema, hypotension, palpitation, tachycardia, arthralgia, myalgia, rash, itch, and priapism.
